Libraries and music

I love my local library, plus the other 2 I have library cards for in nearby communities. I already have plenty of books of my own to read, but I can't help but go look anyway. I have an MP3 player like many people do now, but I'm not excited about spending a lot of money on new music to put on my computer. I've already uploaded all the music from my own cds, and I have purchased music off of the internet before, but usually using a gift card someone else bought me. I like checking the libraries cd selection periodically to see if they have any new music, or any music I like period. I check out the cds and import the songs I want onto my computer, which then goes onto my MP3 player.

I also am not against borrowing cds from friends, but not many still own cds (at least not new ones). I think this is pretty thrifty and nifty. I don't share my library on the internet, it's just for my own use. I still do buy music ocassionally and rarely a cd, and I do enjoy checking out live music to hear new artists when I'm able to attend a concert or show. I do like that some online services offer some selections for under 99 cents now, and a free download once a week on iTunes. There are places that give free downloads out like Starbucks, but I rarely make it in to buy a coffee drink.

So rock on!
